The Ivy League won in more ways than one Saturday when Yale defeated Army 49-43 in overtime.

With a three-yard TD run on Yale's first OT possession, Tyler Varga, a senior running back, gave Yale its first ever win against a FBS team while also giving the Ivy Leage its first FBS win since 1986.

The scoring run was Varga's fifth of the game. Varga also had 128 yards in 28 carries.

The two schools hadn't met since 1996, but Yale had not beat Army since a 14-12 win on Nov. 5, 1955, during the first term of the Eisenhower administration and when the song "Autumn Leaves" by Roger Williams was at the top of the charts. Give it a listen. It's been so long since Yale beat Army, the most popular song in America at the time was instrumental.
