Shedeur Sanders is one of college football’s top talents. He’s already widely expected to be an early first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. 

In 2023, Sanders went for 3,230 passing yards and 31 total touchdowns for Colorado, cementing himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the nation under his father, Deion Sanders. And, oh yeah, he has a song now, too. 

But where is the 22-year-old from?

Here are the details on Sanders’ hometown, high school, and roots in Texas. 

Where is Shedeur Sanders’ hometown?

Sanders grew up just outside of Dallas — more specifically, he was born in Tyler, Texas, in February 2002. 

He is the youngest son of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, who has five children. 

Where did Shedeur Sanders go to high school?

Sanders went to high school at Trinity Christian School, which is in Cedar Hill, Texas.

At the time, his father was the school’s offensive coordinator. Sanders posted 3,702 passing yards and 42 touchdowns as a senior, per the Miami Herald.

He was rated a four-star prospect by 247 Composite and compared as a prospect to now-Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett.  

Sanders first committed to Florida Atlantic to play college football, but he later flipped to Jackson State to join his father as the head coach. He has since also joined him at Colorado. 

Earlier this year, despite all the opportunities that have come along with being Deion’s son, Sanders commented on his Texas roots and how he went “against the odds” as he competed in high school, per Chron. 

"I came from a private school, so at the end of the day, I dealt with a lot of negativity, a lot of hate, a lot of everything I've done dealt with already, year after year," Sanders said. "I came from a small private school. All the other kids were going Power Five, and they went to big Texas 6A schools and stuff. I don't see those same kids around. I don't see them excelling in their programs or whatever they're doing. So, I've always been against the odds in different ways."

Sanders is now set to start another season at Colorado under a national spotlight.
