Washington State and Texas Tech will face off in what should be one of the highest-scoring matchups of Week 2.

The Cougars are looking for sustained success this year after a long losing streak in the middle of the 2023 campaign ended their dreams of playing in a bowl game. Washington State will continue to rely on quarterback John Mateer to lead the charge after the offseason departure of Cam Ward.

With a favorable schedule to start the season, Texas Tech has a chance to rack up some wins before getting deep into its Big 12 schedule. The Red Raiders barely held on to beat Abilene Christian in overtime last week, though, so it's clear that they need to make major improvements before battles against conference foes like Arizona and Oklahoma State.
