Michael Penix Jr. and Rome Odunze are two of the newest Washington players to crack NFL rosters, going No. 8 and No.9 in the 2024 NFL Draft, respectively. The two Huskies from last year’s national runner-up team are among many former players representing the school in the NFL.
With the NFL recently releasing its latest ‘Kickoff Weekend rosters,’ Washington ranks ninth among all colleges with the most NFL players on rosters, fourth among Big Ten teams, and only behind Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State.

Besides Penix Jr. and Odunze, the Huskies have some other notable names in the NFL. Arizona Cardinals safety Buddha Baker and Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie are players who made the most out of their time in Seattle and have had great professional careers thus far.
In regards to the current Husky team, it will be interesting to see if new head coach Jedd Fisch can keep the tradition going to get players drafted to the NFL. Washington enters a showdown in The Apple Cup this weekend, taking on in-state rival Washington State from the Pac-12.
