Utah State’s Levi Williams will look for more success at the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl when the Aggies face off against Georgia State on Saturday.

In 2021, Williams — then the quarterback of Wyoming — starred as the MVP in that year’s Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. He ran for 200 yards and notched five total touchdowns, leading the Cowboys to victory.

Amid injuries to quarterbacks Cooper Legas and McCae Hillstead, Williams will draw the start against Georgia State. He shined in the season finale, netting five total touchdowns to down New Mexico in double overtime, securing bowl eligibility for Utah State.

Panther fans may remember Williams from the 2019 Arizona Bowl, when he tallied four touchdowns to lead Wyoming past Georgia State.

The Panthers limped to the finish line, losing their last five contests after starting the year 6-1. But they are certainly battle-tested, as their last nine games occurred against teams that will compete in a bowl game this season.

The senior duo of quarterback Darren Grainger and 1,000-yard rusher Marcus Carroll will look to spark the Panthers and end their season on a high note.

It’s Georgia State’s first appearance in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, while the Aggies have played here five times — the most of any program in college football.
