It's probably a safe thing to say this will be a defining season for USC and Lincoln Riley.
In his second season with the Trojans, Riley had a disappointing season, finishing with an 8-5 record, which included four Pac-12 losses. What's next?
With Caleb Williams headed for the NFL, USC is in dire need of a QB. Fortunately, Moss Miller is ready. He led the Trojans to a DirecTV Holiday Bowl win over Louisville, which included 372 yards and six passing touchdowns. All in his first career start. While young, Miller's ability to step up in a moment of need speaks for itself.
Now in the Big Ten, the Trojans have some adjusting to do. Luckily, last year saw the most competitive Pac-12 football season to date. They'll open the season against the SEC's LSU and head to Ann Arbor to face the 2023 national champions in their first conference game.
USC doesn't have long to get it together after a disastrous season, but maybe a new conference will provide a needed change of pace.
