Gus Malzahn is somehow always on the hot seat. But not this time. UCF players are now done with people always pointing out Malzahn to be an ill-fit for the program as they are strongly defending anyone who points a finger at their HC.
Plies, the hip-hop sensation, took to his X to share similar views on Malzahn. "Dear @UCF_Football Gus Might Be A Great Man & Recruiter But He’s Just Not The Right Fit For The Program!! He’s Out Dated & It Shows! I Said It Last Week UCF Is A 6-6 Team 7-5 At Best! Those Kids Deserve Better!!! DC Outdated & Offense One Dimensional!" Plies wrote on X.
Jacoby Jones, the WR at UCF, instantly took to his X to give his strong and honest opinion on Malzahn as a head coach. "False! Coach Malzahn is a great coach. But more importantly, he is an even better person and leader! There is no other head coach we would rather have. We all share responsibility in how these last 2 weeks have went. This team believes fully in Coach Malzahn & the coaching staff."
Gus Malzahn's strategy moving forward
After being genuinely sorry for the fans after two consecutive losses against Colorado and Florida, Gus Malzahn and Co. are carving out strategies based on the lessons learned from previous mistakes.
In his pre-game conference, the UCF head coach spilled the beans on what he plans on doing against the Bearcats to break free from the losing streak.
"We gotta get off to a better start. And that's really everything that goes with it. And going behind three weeks in a row, that's no good. And so we gotta solve that. And that's something we're addressing, too. That's something we're looking at. What can we do differently than we've done before, instead of the same old stuff?"
With Malzahn's name frequently on the hot seat, the win against Cincinnati would be crucial in curbing those talks.
