Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence left the game vs. Syracuse in the second quarter on Saturday after suffering a hit to his head/neck area.
Lawrence took the hit as he tried to scramble on third down. He was slow to get up before making his way to the sideline. He then headed toward the locker room without his helmet. He was replaced by Chase Brice, who finished the first half.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said during a halftime interview he did not know the extent of Lawrence's injury or if he would be out for the remainder of the game. Lawrence, a true freshman, was named the starting quarterback for the Tigers this week over Kelly Bryant, who announced his intent to transfer just a few days later.
Reports are emerging that Lawrence is not expected to play the remainder of the game. After the game, co-offensive coordinator Tony Elliott confirmed that Lawrence is in concussion protocol.
Lawrence had been 10 for 15 for 93 yards against the Orange before he left the contest. He was a 5-star recruit coming out of high school this past year and was the No. 1 overall player in the Class of 2018, according to 247Sports' Composite rankings.
