Harris was set to make the position change from quarterback to wide receiver this season, coach Jim McElwain mentioned on Ivan Maisel's podcast on ESPN.

The rising junior had a rough 2015, where he was benched midway through the season in favor of Will Grier. After Grier was suspsended for PED use, Harris reclaimed the starting job and finished the season with a 50.6 percent completion rate, nine touchdowns and six interceptions.
Harris was suspended for violation of university policy in 2015 and had missed spring practice.
Florida currently has five quarterbacks on the roster: Luke Del Rio, Purdue transfer Austin Appleby, and true freshmen Feleipe Franks, Harry Gornto V and Kyle Trask. None has suited up in a game for the Gators.
