Penn State just shook up the Big Ten.
The Nittany Lions, thanks to a blocked field goal return , upset No. 2 Ohio State 24-21 and gave Urban Meyer his first road loss as Buckeyes coach.
Houston also had a rough night. The Cougars dropped their second game of the season, losing to SMU, 38-16. Once a College Football Playoff contender, they're now looking at a December bowl game.
In the big matchup of the day, Alabama's defense kept its scoring streak alive. The Crimson Tide scooped up a fumble and returned it for a touchdown, one of many impressive plays by the top-ranked team against Texas A&M on Saturday.
Alabama essentially secured its spot in the SEC Championship game and the College Football Playff with its 33-14 win over the Aggies.
Earlier on Saturday, Lamar Jackson returned to his normal self. The Louisville quarterback blew up an NC State team that took Clemson to overtime for 431 total yards and four touchdowns as the Cardinals won 54-13.
