Of the five players selected to the Madden 25’s most prestigious group — the Madden 99 Club — three came from Big 12 Conference football programs.
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (Cincinnati), Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (Texas Tech) and Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill (Oklahoma State) all earned the prestigious honor on Aug. 2.
The other two players to make the Madden 99 Club were San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (Stanford) and San Francisco 49ers left offensive tackle Trent Williams (Oklahoma).
Kelce set the record for tight ends in the Madden 99 Club with his fifth appearance. It’s Mahomes’ fourth appearance.
From ESPN: “Kelce is the best player and route-runner of his position group on all three levels. He pairs that route-running with the highest spectacular catch rating (93) of any tight end. Kelce owns the honor of the most inclusions in the 99 Club of any tight end in Madden history.”
Former Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald holds the record with seven Madden 99 Club selections.
Madden NFL 25 is scheduled for release on Aug. 16, 2024.
