For the first time since Nov. 19, 2016, Tennessee has won an SEC game.
The Volunteers stunned No. 21 Auburn on the road, taking down the Tigers 30-24 in Jordan-Hare Stadium — a notoriously difficult stadium in which to play — for the biggest win so far of the Jeremy Pruitt era. They had suffered 11 straight conference losses since their victory two seasons ago over Missouri.

Tennessee intercepted Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham twice in the first half and broke through with 14 third-quarter points that put them ahead for good.
With the loss, the Tigers drop to 4-3 on the season, significantly below expectations after they made it to the SEC championship game and earned a berth in the Peach Bowl last year. They entered the season ranked No. 9 in the country. Besides the Tennessee loss, defeats against LSU and Mississippi State earlier this season have dropped them to just 1-3 in the conference.
The Vols, 3-3 and 1-2 in SEC play, will now face the daunting task of taking on No. 1 Alabama at home next week. Auburn hopes a matchup against Ole Miss can get the Tigers' 2018 season back on track.
