Only in the Big 12 will a football team put up more points than its basketball team did in a conference game the season prior.
You read that right. TCU scored 82 points on Texas Tech on Saturday while the Horned Frogs' men's basketball team scored more than 82 points just once last season, their 98-75 victory over five-win Grambling State.

TCU's 82 points set a Big 12 record for most points scored in a conference game as well as the program's single-game scoring record. It was also the most points scored in an FBS game this season — surpassing 77 from North Texas — and the Horned Frogs became the eighth team since 2000 to hit the 80-point mark.

(Note: most of the losing teams were FCS schools. Unfortunately for Texas Tech, that isn't the case).
With the 82 points, TCU now averages 50.4 points per game, tops in the FBS, and the Horned Frogs have not scored less than 30 points all season. There are plenty of teams (looking at you, SMU) that would appreciate a peek into TCU's offensive playbook.
