No team in the Big 12 Conference is doing better on the recruiting trail in the summer of 2024 than TCU, which has already put together a Top 20 class for 2025.

The Athletic’s Justin Williams singled out TCU in his breakdown of where every Big 12 program’s recruiting class stands in the dead period before training camp starts.

According to 247Sports, TCU currently has the No. 14 recruiting class in the country and the No. 1 class in the Big 12, with 21 commits for 2025.

“No one in the Big 12 has had a better summer on the recruiting trail than the Horned Frogs, who reeled in four four-star, top-400 prospects over the course of a month,” Williams wrote. “It started on the last day of May with a commitment from Chad Woodfork, a 6-foot-4 edge rusher from outside of Houston and near top-100 recruit according to the 247Sports Composite ratings. The run ended with a commitment from four-star cornerback Micah Strickland, a top-150 recruit from Brownsboro, Texas, who measures 6-feet tall with a 6-foot-6 wingspan.”

TCU went 5-7 in 2023 after making it to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in 2022 in head coach Sonny Dykes’ first season. The Horned Frogs were picked to finish 10th in the Big 12 media preseason poll released on July 2.
