During his short time as QB1 for Colorado, Shedeur Sanders has already made a number of statements on the field. One of the biggest statements, however, wasn't made with his play but rather a pre-game gesture that has quickly become a phenomenon.

Ahead of Colorado's rivalry game with Nebraska in Week 2 of the college football season, Sanders and his teammates took exception to the Cornhuskers congregating at CU's midfield Buffalo logo. As words were exchanged between the two parties, Sanders opted not to argue, instead raising his wrist to flash his watch in the face of a Nebraska opponent.

And as one might imagine, Sanders' watch is far from a typical timepiece.

Sanders' "legendary flex," or "The Shedeur," as coined by Rick Ross and DJ Khaled, places a spotlight on his customized stainless steel Audemars Piguet (AP) Royal Oak 15500, as revealed in a recent Complex story.

The custom watch, which features 30 carats of VVS diamonds, was purchased by Shedeur in 2022 while he was still on Jackson State's roster. And like his dad's Louis Vuitton luggage, the custom AP has also made its way to Boulder, Colo.

The Royal Oak retails at $27,800 but Sanders' jeweler, Florida-based Saki Mihalakos, shared that the custom is valued at around $70,000, though he declined to give an exact figure.

“That's my watch on his wrist. He's out there shining. But he puts in the work. He deserves it,” Mihakalos said to Complex.

Sanders' Royal Oak is just one piece within the 21-year-old's growing jewelry collection, but long before the custom timepiece was associated with hitting "The Shedeur," it was clearly one of his favorites.

The watch itself is seemingly the inspiration for the Heisman hopeful's unreleased song "Perfect Timing."

"They told me bust down my AP, perfect timing," Sanders says to open the hook. "Got them baguettes up on my neck, I stay shining. It's never hot around, my jewelry change the climate. I went and got that new Maybach, I stay grinding."

While he's a QB first and foremost, Sanders clearly lives what he speaks on in his music, evidenced by his "bust down" AP, which was disassembled in order to be customized with VVS stones and the Maybach he purchased with NIL money, as shown in a viral video in which he takes his dad for a spin.

Playing over the Maybach's speakers during that father-son moment? "Perfect Timing," adding a meta element to it all.

Some may say that the arrival of Coach Prime and his son was perfect timing for Colorado football. We'll see just how far that timing can take the Buffs in 2023.
