After three seasons as the full-time starter at Arkansas, UCF quarterback KJ Jefferson walked away with almost every significant passing record in school history, including passing yards (7,923), touchdown passes (67), completions (626) and completion percentage (65.1).

Unfortunately for Jefferson, he’ll likely be remembered for how his last season with the Razorbacks went in 2023, stumbling to a 4-8 record after going 16-8 over the previous two seasons as the starter.

Jefferson also threw for a career-low 2,107 yards, rushed for a career-low 447 yards and threw for a career-high 8 interceptions.

Jefferson, 6-foot-3 and 247 pounds, now gets a chance to reboot his career in the Big 12 after transferring to UCF. The Knights went 6-7 in 2023 in its first season under Gus Malzahn and first season in the Big 12, capping the season with a loss to Georgia Tech in the Gasparilla Bowl.

ESPN recently put Jefferson in the “best of the rest” category in ranking the top quarterback prospects for the 2025 NFL Draft.

“Transferring to UCF could be good for (Jefferson),” wrote ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg. “Knights coach Gus Malzahn has done well with mobile passers with good arms. Jefferson is built like a tank at 6-3, 247 pounds, and has all the traits necessary to execute Malzahn's scheme.”

UCF opens the season on Aug. 29 at home against New Hampshire.
