Nebraska football has high hopes for this season, especially after a dominant win at Memorial Stadium over rival Colorado. Freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola, who has thrown for 423 yards and three touchdowns through two games, is a huge reason for this belief.
On ESPN’s College Gameday, Pat McAfee said that he’s high on the Buford, GA native.
“{Matt Rhule} has a dude at quarterback,” McAfee said. “Maybe his best talent he’s ever had.”

Raiola’s supporting cast has been a huge reason the Huskers are off to a great start this year. Wide receivers Isaiah Neyor and Jahmal Banks have been key targets, combining for over 200 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Running back Dante Dowdell has also been big when called upon, rushing for 129 yards and three touchdowns on 25 total carries.
With the win against Colorado, Nebraska enters a very manageable part of its schedule. They will face conference opponents Illinois and Rutgers at home while traveling to West Lafayette to take on Purdue. The Huskers will also travel to take on Indiana before a challenging showdown with Ohio State in Columbus on Oct. 26.
However, Nebraska will host Northern Iowa at home next Saturday before they jump into Big Ten play. The Panthers enter this game 2-0 with wins over Valparaiso as well as St. Thomas from the Pioneer League.
