The Oregon State Beavers and Purdue Boilermakers are going head-to-head Saturday for just the third time ever.

Oregon State is forging its own path this year with a bit of an unusual schedule due to conference realignment. The Beavers are coming off of a bitter 49-14 loss to their in-state rival No. 9 Oregon last weekend, bringing their all-time record to 51-68-10 against the Ducks.

While it stings, Oregon was likely the Beavers' toughest matchup this season. Oregon State has still picked up convincing wins against Idaho State and San Diego State so far, and should fare better against later opponents.

Purdue on the other hand, was purely dominated by No. 18 Notre Dame over the weekend, 66-7. Any hopes of catching the Fighting Irish in another Northern Illinois situation was squashed quickly, as they scored 42 unanswered points against the Boilermakers before halftime.

Purdue isn't a lost cause, but the Boilermakers put on a sorry performance Saturday. A matchup against Oregon State should be a good measuring stick for the Boilermakers.
