Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy isn't going to punish All-American running back Ollie Gordon by forcing him to miss game time following Gordon's DUI arrest.

Gundy told ESPN's Pete Thamel at Big 12 Media Days on July 9 in Las Vegas that Gordon won't be punished after his arrest on June 30 in Oklahoma.

"I'm going to do what we think is best for Oklahoma State football," Gundy said. "And I think it's best for Ollie to play. If there's any punishment, it's making him carry the ball 50 times in the first game."

Gordon won the Doak Walker Award as the nation's top running back in 2023 after he rushed for 1,732 yards and 21 touchdowns while averaging 6.1 yards per carry. Gordon also had 39 receptions for 330 yards and 1 touchdown.

Gordon apologized for his arrest via a post on his X account on July 8, one day before he was set to appear at Big 12 Media Days.

Oklahoma State opens the season on Aug. 31 at home against two-time defending FCS national champion South Dakota State.
