The Big 12 still has a small glimmer of hope remaining for the College Football Playoff when No. 6 Iowa State and No. 10 Oklahoma kick off.
The Cyclones (8-2) have the best chance to represent the Big 12 in the Playoff but have a pair of stinging blows on their resume in a three-point loss to then No. 6 Oklahoma State and an ugly 17-point blunder to Louisiana at the start of the season. Led by coach Matt Campbell, Iowa State has one of the slowest paces of any offense in the country and relies heavily on its stud running back Breece Hall. Hall leads the nation with 1,357 rushing yards and averages 135.7 yards a game, which is the fifth best in the country.
Oklahoma (7-2) has come a long way since losing two of its first three games, including falling 37-30 at Iowa State. Sophomore quarterback Spencer Rattler has cut down tremendously on mistakes since the two losses in which he threw four total interceptions. In the six games since Oklahoma's last defeat, Rattler has just three interceptions.

While Iowa State has never played in one, Oklahoma is no stranger to playing for a Big 12 title. The Sooners have won the last four Big 12 championships (there was no title game from 2011-16) and have won 10 of the 18 overall.
Whichever team wins will need a lot of help to ensure a Playoff berth. Not only will No. 5 Texas A&M need to lose to a three-win Tennessee team, but then either Clemson or Ohio State will need to be blown out in their respective conference championships.
