There's another Daniels in Baton Rouge ready to become a breakout star.

Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers brought in some intriguing players via the transfer portal this offseason. One of those incoming transfers is CJ Daniels, a productive wide receiver coming from Liberty.

Daniels was named a player who could have an immediate impact for the Tigers by SI.com's Zack Nagy

"LSU brought in former Liberty star CJ Daniels to come in and take on an expanded role for the Tigers in 2024," Nagy wrote. "Daniels has showcased his skill set as a vertical threat during his time in college, and now in Baton Rouge, he'll have the perfect quarterback to match his game in Garrett Nussmeier."

Daniels wasn't a household name coming out of high school in Georgia. He was just a 2-star recruit in 2020, with the biggest offers coming from service academies and North Dakota State. He opted to take an offer from the Liberty Flames, where he would eventually become one of the team's top offensive weapons.

This past season, Daniels broke out with second-team All-Conference USA honors. He caught 55 passes for 1,067 yards and 10 touchdowns.

A 6-foot-2, 200-pound receive, Daniels has the ideal frame and play speed to be a vertical threat in LSU's offense. Tigers fans will quickly learn his name once the season begins on September 1 against the USC Trojans.
