LSU hasn’t beaten Alabama since 2011, when the Tigers pulled out a 9-6 slugfest of a victory.
Since then, the Crimson Tide has rattled off five straight wins and outscored LSU 130-63. But all that changes Nov. 5, Tigers defensive back Dwayne Thomas said.

“I really see us dominating this (Alabama) offense. I really see us dominating this team,” Thomas told The Advocate.
“This is the year,” he said. “We’ve been letting them off the hook for the last couple of years. This is my senior year. We’re going out with a bang. It’s time for us to bring that win back. We’re going to be at home. I feel like we have the edge to take it to them, and we’re going to take it to them. I feel like we’re going to dominate this game.”
Those are strong words considering not only the recent history between these two teams, but the dominant run No. 1 Alabama is enjoying this season.
The Tide is seventh in the country averaging 43.9 points per game with dynamic freshman quarterback Jalen Hurts. And the defense is also seventh in the nation, allowing opposing offenses just 14.9 points.
No. 19 LSU is surging since the firing of Les Miles, winning three straight in convincing fashion. And the Tigers' defense is just as formidable as Alabama’s, allowing just 15.0 points per game.
“We want that No. 1 next to their (name),” Thomas said. “I feel confident in this game. We know we have our shot. We need to get back and put banners on these walls.”
Thomas and the rest of the Tigers get the weekend off before welcoming Nick Saban and Co. to Death Valley.
