LSU running back Leonard Fournette has nothing left to prove on the college level. He’s run over and through every defense he’s faced (except Alabama) and should be the top running back taken in next year’s draft.
But none of that means he wants to leave Baton Rouge quite yet.

“At the end of the day, nobody wants to leave college. Nobody’s ready for the real world,” Fournette said Tuesday (via SECCountry.com). “I know I’m not, to be honest. So I have to wait and see when we talk to Coach (Ed Orgeron).”
Fournette has battled leg injuries the last two seasons and reportedly took out two separate $10 million insurance policies last offseason. Some even thought he would be best suited to sit out this season in preparation for the pros. But Fournette said he “would never jump ship” on his team, and may even need one more season before running headlong into “32-, 36-year-old men.”
“It really is (a hard decision). Just thinking about everything you’re leaving behind. There’s so much memories and experiences you have,” he said. “It’s fun. I believe college is college. It’s the best years you have. Every year I’ve been here, I’ve enjoyed it.”
Football fans wouldn’t be opposed to seeing him bruise college defenses for one more season, but it doesn’t make much a ton of sense in the long run.
