Go crazy, Jayhawk football fans. You've waited long enough.

Kansas secured bowl eligibility for the first time since 2008 with a stunning 37-16 upset win over No. 18 Oklahoma State on Saturday. It sparked pandemonium in Lawrence, where thousands of fans stormed the field to celebrate the end of a 14-year long postseason drought.

It was a great moment for Jayhawk fans everywhere. However, it was a very, very bad moment for the goalposts at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.

They never stood a chance, and were quickly toppled by the masses. Some speculated they might end up in the nearby Kansas River, much like Tennessee's goalposts after the Volunteers beat Alabama a few weeks ago. But ultimately, they were deposited in Potter Lake, just a short walk from the stadium.

Tennessee ended up having to crowdsource donations for some new uprights after its win, but it seems that won't be necessary this time around. Kansas took a dig at the Vols with a social media post showing a newly-installed goalpost on Saturday night.

It was a massive victory for a KU program that has struggled mightily for over a decade, with the second-fewest wins of any team in the FBS since 2009 (ahead of only UMass). Head coach Lance Leipold and his team can now start preparing for a long-awaited bowl appearance in 2022.

Every Power 5 program has made a bowl since 2017 except for Kansas and Nebraska. The Huskers need to win their final three games to avoid owning the longest bowl drought in the nation.
