Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has no problem supporting former Baylor head coach Art Briles.

Briles was fired this offseason after a series of sexual-assault allegations were brought to light, including ones involving Baylor football players. Briles, the coaching staff and the school's administration faced scrutiny after the events surfaced.

But Briles still believes he will coach next season, and Jones sees no reason why a team should have any fear about taking a chance on him.

"I will vouch for him as a person," Jones said Tuesday, per the Dallas Morning News. "He's top quality as a person. I'd want my grandson, if he had the chance, to play for him."

Briles, 60, is ready to move on and learn from past mistakes.

"Reality is reality," he said. "What I've got to do is redefine myself and start a new chapter, and that's what I'm doing. I'm just going to make sure that I have policies in place that are protective of everybody — students first and foremost, then administrators, coaches."
