East Tennessee State football has dismissed defensive back Jackson Trawick, 23, from its program following his arrest on statutory rape charges Wednesday.

Police say a 17-year-old girl reported on Monday she was sexually assaulted by Trawick. The girl is not an ETSU student.

“Any sexual misconduct will not be tolerated and is a violation of our athletic department’s policies and values,” ETSU athletic director Richard Sander said in a statement. “The player in question has been removed and is no long a member of our program.”

According to a report by Johnson City (Tenn.) TV station WJHL, the accuser told police she met Trawick at a Starbucks and then traveled to his apartment to watch movies. Police observed the pair entering Trawick’s residence on camera footage, though she later left his apartment by herself. According to the WJHL's report, the accuser told investigators Trawick forced her to have sex with him.

Trawick told police that, after he met his accuser at the coffee shop, they went back to his apartment and had consensual sex. Police arrested him on charges of statutory rape because the accuser is 17.

Trawick transferred to East Tennessee State from Wingate University following the 2015 season. He redshirted last year.
