Houston's in the market for a new head coach, and there's apparently some internal debate as who the hire should be.
Saturday morning, ESPN's Brett McMurphy reported the Cougars will interview at least five candidates, including Art Briles.
But for obvious reasons — Briles was fired from Baylor for his involvement and cover up of several sexual assault cases involving football players — Houston athletic director Hunter Yurachek released a statement, explaining the have no plans to interview Briles despite the former Baylor coach's interest.

But it seems like there was some push-back on Houston's decision to turn down Briles. According to McMurphy, one Houston board member wanted Briles on the list.

At least he was overruled — any school hiring Briles will have a PR nightmare for a while.
