It’s not much of a reach to envision Kansas State sophomore quarterback Avery Johnson as one of the best players in the Big 12 Conference in 2024.
By that same logic, it’s not hard to envision him as one of the best players in the entire country, and Johnson enters the season as the Big 12 player with the best Heisman Trophy odds across the board.
Johnson’s Heisman odds are listed at +2500 on Bet365, FanDuel and ESPNBet and +3000 on BetMGM.
The former four-star recruit out of Maize (Kan.) High School capped the 2023 season by earning MVP honors in the Pop-Tarts Bowl after leading the Wildcats to a 28-19 win over No. 19 North Carolina State, where he finished with 178 passing yards, 2 touchdowns and no interceptions to go with 7 carries for 71 rushing yards and 1 touchdown.
Kansas State opens the season on Aug. 31 against Tennessee-Martin.
