The problem with Freshman All-American teams is we can't fully dig into the meat of the game's future stars. Or to be more specific: the quarterbacks who will lead and change the sport.
Josh Rosen of UCLA is the Sporting News Freshman of the Year at quarterback, but the group behind him at the most important position on the field is as impressive. Notre Dame's DeShone Kizer, a redshirt freshman (technically, ND doesn't redshirt, so Kizer is a sophomore), is the game's next big star, and Jake Browning (Washington) and Lamar Jackson (Louisville) will be program changers.

Then there's Florida'a Will Grier, who before being suspended by the NCAA for using performance enhancing drugs, was having the best season of any freshman quarterback. The future is bright at the most important position on the field, and with the rest of the SN Freshman All-Americans.
