Although both games are played in neutral locations, both will be played in the home state for each team. The 2022 contest will reportedly be played in New Orleans, while the 2023 game will be played in Orlando.

The teams have met nine times before, with their last meeting coming in 1991. Florida State holds a 7-2 series advantage and a current four-game win streak. The Seminoles won the last meeting 27-16 in Baton Rouge in 1991, while LSU's last win came in 1982 in a 55-21 home romp.

The news of this series adds to an already impressive slate for these teams over the next 10 years.

LSU opens 2018 with a neutral-site game against Miami before — according to FBSchedules.com — playing home-and-home series with Texas (2019-20), UCLA (2021 and '24) and Oklahoma (2027-28). Florida State will play Notre Dame in 2018, '21 and '24, has a two-game series with Boise State in 2019-20 and a neutral-site game against West Virginia in 2020.
