Florida State's 2023 season was a movie. It went 8-0 in the ACC, winning a conference championship, and it still missed out on the College Football Playoffs. A horror film for Seminole fans.
Despite the perfect start to the season, WB Jordan Travis went down against North Alabama. He fractured his leg and would never play another game for the Seminoles. Ultimately, this was the committee's reasoning to eliminate Florida State from the playoffs. Without its star QB, it would not truly compete for a national title.
Heartbroken, the Seminoles could not get it together in time for the Orange Bowl against Georgia. They lost 63-3, the biggest loss in a college football bowl game. They immediately lost several players to the transfer portal, such as backup QB Tate Rodemaker, but they also picked up an experienced DJ Uiagalelei from Oregon State.
Mike Norvell will be playing with a chip on his shoulder this season. And it all begins in Ireland.
