This fall, Cal joins the ACC. Its first conference matchup? None other than the reigning ACC Champs, Florida State. For the first time, the Seminoles and Bears face off on the gridiron.
It'll be a rude awakening for Cal in Tallahassee. The Seminoles are determined to prove themselves after missing out on the playoffs last year then getting dominated in the Orange Bowl. They have a chance at redemption this year with 12 teams making the postseason. But they have to get through the regular season first.
Meanwhile, the Golden Bears will just be trying to survive their first season in a new conference. They're focused on a winning season, Justin Wilcox's third, after falling just under .500 with a bowl game loss last year. A new conference, new rivals, may be exactly what they need for a breakout.
