Colorado might have one of the nation’s best transfers in wide receiver LaJohntay Wester, and it’s not just inside of the program that people are beginning to take notice.
Wester landed a spot on the Biletnikoff Award preseason watch list on Aug. 7 alongside teammate Travis Hunter, who was not only on the Biletnikoff Award watch list for the nation’s best wide receiver but is also on the Thorpe Award watch list among the nation’s bst wide receivers. .
Wester transferred from Florida Atlantic, where he earned All-American honors in 2023 with 108 receptions for 1,168 yards. He’s part of a group of transfers at wide receiver along with All-SEC pick Will Sheppard, who transferred from Vanderbilt, along with North Carolina State transfer Terrell Timmons Jr.
Hunter and Wester were two of the 11 wide receivers to make the cut from the Big 12 Conference along with Kansas’ Lawrence Arnold, Baylor’s Ashtyn Hawkins, Iowa State’s Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel, Texas Tech’s Josh Kelly, TCU’s Erc McAlister, Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan and Oklahoma State’s Rashod Owens and Brennan Presley.
Colorado opens the season on Aug. 31 at home against North Dakota State.
