Why pass the ball to a teammate when you can kick it?
That's what Eastern Kentucky punter Jordan Berry did Saturday against rival Morehead State.
On a fourth-and-4 in the fourth quarter, Berry was back to punt. He took the snap and instead of kicking it away - the Colonels led 42-24 at the time - he executed a rugby-style kick to defensive back Trey Thomas. Thomas caught the kick and ran forward for the first down.

The play is legal as long as the ball is caught behind the line of scrimmage -- otherwise it would be just like downing the ball on a punt -- and this play was.
Eastern Kentucky capitalized and scored off the fake punt and added another touchdown for a 56-24 victory.
