A talented pack of quarterbacks is ready to take the field for the Big 12 Conference in 2024, thanks in no small part to an influx of talent on the four teams coming over from the Pac-12 Conference.

Bleacher Report tabbed Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders as the cream of the crop in the Big 12 heading into the season after the projected first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft showed why he was elite in 2024 despite playing behind a porous offensive line and with essentially no rushing attack to speak of.

“Shedeur Sanders had a superb 2023 season despite throwing behind a poor offensive line,” Bleacher Report’s David Kenyon wrote. “He passed for 3,230 yards at 7.5 per attempt with 27 touchdowns to just three interceptions. In theory, CU upgraded the blocking unit while bringing in a couple of talented receivers. On paper, the Buffs are going to have a dangerous offense in what likely will be the last season that Sanders, a potential first-round NFL draft pick, spends in college.”

Kansas State’s Avery Johnson, Arizona’s Noah Fifita and Utah’s Cam Rising were also listed among the Big 12’s elite quarterbacks headed into the season — only Johnson has yet to spend a season as a full-time starter.
