Friday's trio of college football games is headlined by a surprising ranked showdown and a new-look ACC matchup.

Upstart Syracuse hosts Stanford to begin the slate. The Orange (2-0) have emerged as an ACC darkhorse behind Ohio State transfer quarterback Kyle McCord. McCord has thrown for 735 yards across Syracuse's first two games, notching four touchdowns in each contest.

In the Big Ten, No. 22 Nebraska and No. 24 Illinois are two of the pleasant surprises in all of college football, and they'll square off under the lights in Lincoln. True freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola, a five-star recruit, has the Cornhuskers off to their first 3-0 start since 2016; meanwhile, the Illini recently toppled No. 19 Kansas, their highest-ranked non-conference win since 1995.

After thumping old foe Washington in the Apple Cup on Saturday, Washington State (3-0) begins its unorthodox schedule of Mountain West opponents against undefeated San Jose State.

Here is everything that you need to know in order to watch Friday's college football matchups.
