If Week 7 of the 2022 college football season was an earthquake, then Week 8 represents the aftershocks — not quite as big, but still plenty dangerous for several teams in action.

Five games will take place among ranked teams on Saturday, including a matchup of unbeaten teams in the ACC (No. 14 Syracuse at No. 5 Clemson), the "College GameDay" game of the week (No. 9 UCLA at No. 10 Oregon) and a battle of two teams undefeated in Big 12 play (No. 17 Kansas State at No. 8 TCU).

Elsewhere, No. 6 Alabama will look to recover from a Week 7 loss to Tennessee against No. 24 Mississippi State, a team with plenty of offensive firepower. And No. 20 Texas will look to continue its resurgence behind quarterback Quinn Ewers against No. 11 Oklahoma State, fresh off its first loss of the season.

That doesn't even include other potential "trap" games such as Iowa at No. 2 Ohio State, No. 7 Ole Miss at LSU or Minnesota at No. 16 Penn State.
