With every week, college football fans get a clearer picture as to who are the best teams in the sport. The early season does not always have the most pivotal matchups in helping clear that up. But Week 2 was a bit of an exception.
The week saw one of the more high profile non-conference matchups of the year, with Texas stunning Alabama in Tuscaloosa in a commanding 34-24 win. It should also see a rise from Ole Miss after a ranked matchup against Tulane.
Most of the usual suspects at the top will remain the same. Top teams like Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State and Florida State took care of business, solidifying their spots in the top five. But Wisconsin and Texas A&M lost to unranked foes, joining Alabama and Tulane as the only four teams ranked in the top 25 to fall in Week 2.
The first week of the season saw jumps by Colorado and Duke into the top 25, and there will undoubtedly be several teams that make similar jumps in the Week 2 polls.
