The first release of the College Football Playoff rankings is coming Tuesday. And the results from Saturday will give the committee plenty to think about as it decides how to assess the college football season to date.
The stunner of the weekend came with Kansas beating No. 6 Oklahoma to take down one of the final six undefeated Power 5 football teams left in the nation. But there were plenty of other standout performances from the weekend.
Oregon appears to have re-established itself in the Pac-12 after blowing out No. 13 Utah 35-6 in Salt Lake City, while Washington barely escaped a matchup with two-win Stanford, its second shaky performance in as many weeks. North Carolina followed up its loss to Virginia with another crushing defeat, this time to Georgia Tech, while Louisville solidified itself behind Florida State in the ACC with a dominant win against Duke.
But there will still several top-tier programs that kept their footing toward the top. Georgia bludgeoned Florida in the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, and Ohio State pulled away late in a night, road clash with Wisconsin. Florida State drubbed Wake Forest, and a Quinn Ewers-less Texas team ran it up against a solid BYU squad.
