If Thursday night was any indication, Alabama running back Derrick Henry will go home with the Heisman on Saturday.

Henry beat out LSU running back Leonard Fournette and Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey, who is also a Heisman finalist, for the Doak Walker Award as the nation's top running back.

Henry also claimed the Maxwell Award as college football's player of the year. The Maxwell winner has often gone on to receive the Heisman. The most recent exceptions have been A.J. McCarron claiming the Maxwell in 2013 but Jameis Winston winning the Heisman, and Manti Te'o as the 2012 Maxwell winner but the Heisman going to Johnny Manziel.

The 2015 awards were presented Thursday evening at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, marking the first time ESPN's College Football Awards Show hadn't originated in Orlando, Fla.
