Conference championship weekend didn't exactly go as many might have expected. Washington was nearly a double-digit underdog against Oregon. The Huskies won the rematch. Georgia has been the clear title favorite all year. The Bulldogs fell to Alabama. Florida State's defense carried it in a low-scoring ACC title game against Louisville.
Saturday's games officially put a bow on the regularly scheduled programming. Teams have made their final cases for bowl season, and all that's left now, is for teams to be assigned to those bowls. The College Football Playoff will, of course, be the most dramatic bowl game selections, but there should be a bevy of interesting bowl game clashes now, particularly with teams like Georgia and Ohio State likely to miss the final four.
