Deshaun Watson is making up for his goose egg in the touchdown column last week against Florida State in a big way.
Clemson's true freshman quarterback — its first in 20 years — threw six touchdowns in the Tigers' win, a Clemson single-game record. For good measure, he also broke true freshman records for most passing yards in a single game (435) and a season (914).
Watson finished the game 27-for-36 with 435 passing yards, six touchdowns and one interception.

On the flip side, North Carolina can't be too happy about the defense's performance in the past two weeks. The Tar Heels have given up an average of 60 points per game in their two losses — 70 points to East Carolina on Sept. 20 and 50 to Clemson on Saturday. Even worse, they've given up 882 passing yards and 10 TD passes in those two losses.
Entering Saturday's game, North Carolina ranked 123rd in the nation, giving up an average of 42 points per game. Its points-against average has now jumped to 44 with games against Virginia Tech and Notre Dame looming.
