Kickers often have a thankless job on a football team. Their position is perceived to be one of the easiest, and they're often the scapegoat if they can't come through in the clutch.
A recent Clemson recruit might be able to avoid that heat, at least temporarily, after receiving an unusual honor.
DRAFT DEADLINE: Clemson the clear winner as stars stay
B.T. Potter of South Pointe High School in Rock Hill, S.C., was voted High School Blitz's 2017 Anderson Player of the Year by fans. The prize: a scholarship and, most importantly, free Chick-fil-A for a year.

Potter, the No. 3 kicker in the 2018 recruiting class according to 247Sports' rankings, joined the Tigers during the early signing period in December.
While the idea of an athlete getting free food that isn't directly from the university seems like something that would catch the NCAA's attention, this prize seems to be within the rules. But a free 12-piece meal given to one of Potter's teammates might change that.
