The Clemson Tigers football team defeated SMU to win the ACC title and earn a spot in the College Football Playoff. Unfortunately, Clemson's impressive season came to an end with a loss to No. 5 Texas in the first round of the CFP.
With the college football season just waiting for the national title game, Brad Crawford of 247Sports and CBS Sports dropped his way-too-early top 25 rankings.
In his rankings, there were several ACC teams, and Clemson landed at No. 6 in the rankings. The other ACC teams were Miami (FL) at No. 9 and SMU at No. 11, so it's a strong sign for the ACC.
Currently, Clemson has a decent amount of big-name players set to return, including star quarterback Cade Klubnik. In the transfer portal, Dabo Swinney has made waves by landing Alabama EDGE Jeremiah Alexander, Southeast Missouri State wide receiver Tristan Smith and former Purdue defensive end Will Heldt so far.
They also added new defensive coordinator Tom Allen from Penn State after dismissing Wes Goodwin after three seasons.
Clemson has a tricky non-conference schedule in 2025 with games against the SEC's LSU in the opener and South Carolina in the closer. They'll also host CFP ranked conference team's from this past season in SMU and Syracuse, while traveling to face Louisville and Bill Belichick and North Carolina, among others. However, the momentum is high for the Tigers going into the offseason.
