BYU needed a boost to its Class of 2025 recruiting class and got a big one with a commitment from wide receiver Lamason Waller, a four-star recruit out of Sultana High School in Hesperia, California.
Waller announced his commitment to BYU on his X account on June 21. While his position on 247Sports is listed as an Athlete, he’s projected as a wide receiver on the next level.
Waller, 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds, had 62 receptions for 1,151 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2023 — his second consecutive season with over 1,000 receiving yards. He also had 36 tackles and 2 interceptions on defense.
BYU currently has 13 commitments from the Class of 2025. Waller picked the Cougars over offers from Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Florida State, Michigan, Oregon and Notre Dame, among others.
Lamason Waller reaches back to get the pass, gets in for a touchdown, and gets an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty as well.
