Now that the Big Ten has expanded to 18 teams, there have been a lot of rankings and comparisons. From stadiums to coaches, adding four Pac-12 teams to the league has made the comparisons more fun and the debates more heated.
The Big Ten has some of the most iconic uniforms in the sport. Michigan’s famous Maize and Blue, Ohio State’s Buckeye helmet stickers and the traditionally basic threads of Penn State and Nebraska.

But the West Coast teams bring their own style to the league. USC and UCLA have such historic bold colors, they’re allowed to both wear their home jerseys when they play. Washington’s purple and gold is certainly unique. And then there’s Oregon. The Ducks have made their own tradition by mixing and matching. Oregon has hundreds of combinations and hasn't repeated one since 2010.
So who has the best uniforms? In an answer that may enrage old school Big Ten traditionalists, former Florida QB Danny Kanell says his top two are Oregon and UCLA.
On the Cover 3 Podcast, Kanell said, “I want flash! They (Oregon) do have some where I’m like, ‘Uh, that’s a swing and a miss.’ But you do get a lot of cool variations.”
On the Bruins, Kanell said, “You know who I do like a lot? UCLA. The blue home uniforms.”
As for traditional uniforms like Penn State? Kanell says “Meat and Potatoes.”
