The Iron Bowl, one of the most storied rivalries in college football, will add another chapter on Saturday in a game that will once again feature significant College Football Playoff implications.
No. 1 Alabama (11-0, 7-0 in SEC) has been the most dominant team in the country this season, and is top 10 in the NCAA in total offense, total defense, points scored and points allowed. It has yet to play in any close games, with their slimmest margin of victory coming in a 22-point win over Texas A&M.

The Crimson Tide are coming off a minor scare against The Citadel, which plays in the FCS. The teams were tied at halftime, but Alabama stormed back with 33 unanswered points to pull away in a 50-17 win.
Auburn (7-4, 3-4) hasn't had the same amount of success as its in-state rivals, stumbling out of the gates in conference play with a close loss to LSU. The Tigers have fallen three more times since. Like Alabama, they had it easy last week, destroying Liberty 53-0. While the competition is nowhere close to the Crimson Tide, it does provide the Tigers with a little bit of momentum and a return to their winning ways.
Alabama leads the all-time series between the teams 45-36-1, but the Tigers did come away with the 26-14 victory last year, which clinched them a berth in the SEC championship game. The Tide have already secured a spot in the conference championship this year, so that won't be at stake, but the "Kick Six" from 2013 proves that this game always has the potential to be an instant classic.
