Arizona State already has an uphill battle in its first year in the Big 12 Conference in 2024.
And, to be honest, things weren’t really going that well for the Sun Devils in the Pac-12 Conference.
Kelly Ford Rankings has Arizona State ranked as having the toughest schedule in the Big 12 Conference in 2024, projecting the Sun Devils at 6.1 wins. Kansas State, one of the favorites in the Big 12, was ranked as having the easiest schedule out of the 16 schools.
Arizona State is coming off back-to-back losing seasons after going 3-9 in 2022 under head coach Herm Edwards then going 3-9 in 2023 in head coach Kenny Dillingham’s first season.
Arizona State opens the season on Aug. 31 at home against Wyoming — one of the tougher opening games for any of the Big 12 programs. The Sun Devils’ first run through the Big 12 could really be torture, as well: home games against Kansas, Utah, UCF and BYU and road games at Texas Tech, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Arizona.
