No player in the Big 12 Conference in 2024 has a better shot at winning the Heisman Trophy than Arizona sophomore quarterback Noah Fifita, who went 7-2 in nine starts in 2023 with 2,869 passing yards, 25 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.
According to Las Vegas oddsmakers, Fifta has of any player in the Big 12 to win the Heisman at +1800 at Bet365, although he’s at +3300 on FanDuel and +2500 on BetMGM.
Fifita’s play down the stretch in 2023 was actually comparable to a pair of Heisman Trophy finalists. His 22 touchdowns across the final eight games trailed only Oregon’s Bo Nix and Heisman winner Jayden Daniels of LSU in that stretch.
Arizona opens the season on Aug. 31 at home against New Mexico. Fifita and the Wildcats will open Big 12 play on the road against another Heisman dark horse when they play at Kansas State against sophomore quarterback Avery Johnson on Sept. 13.
