A few players took the field Saturday with a message.
In a movement coordinated by the National Collegiate Players Association, some players had "APU" -- All Players United -- written on their equipment.
Georgia Tech QB Vad Lee had it written on the tape on his left wrist, for example.
But why?
To protest the NCAA's treatment of athletes.
According to the NCPANow.org site, the organization's mission is "to provide the means for college athletes to voice their concerns and change NCAA rules."
Among the group's goals:
-- Minimize college athletes' brain trauma risks.
-- Raise the scholarship amount.
-- Prevent players from being stuck paying sports-related medical expenses.
-- Guarantee that college athletes are granted an athletic release from their university if they wish to transfer schools.
-- Allow athletes of all sports to transfer schools one time without punishment.
Five Georgia offensive linemen also participated as well as other Georgia Tech players, according to USA Today.
